Recently, 1282 sets EV charging stations piloted in Hangzhou and Huzhou participated in green electricity market transactions through aggregation, purchasing a total of 98 million kilowatt hours of new energy electricity such as photovoltaic and wind power. This batch of green electricity will be supplied to over 200000 electric vehicles, assisting in the green and low-carbon transformation of the transportation sector.
Aggregation refers to bundling the electricity demand of multiple charging stations and participating in market transactions together. Due to the fact that electric vehicles and charging facilities are small and scattered electricity consuming entities that cannot directly participate in transactions, they adopt an aggregated form to form a scale. State Grid Zhejiang Electric Vehicle Company is a qualified electricity sales company that purchases green electricity from new energy power generation enterprises within the province and the northwest region through the national inter provincial green electricity trading market. It also acts as an agent for charging station operators within the province to sell electricity, accurately matching green electricity to various "green charging stations".
In the past, when charging stations were connected to the Zhejiang power grid, it was impossible to distinguish the source of electricity consumption. Now, through market-oriented trading contracts and green power traceability technology, it is possible to ensure the supply of all green electricity, "said the person in charge of the Zhejiang Electric Power Trading Center. At present, this batch of charging piles covers various business scenarios such as electric vehicle fast charging stations, bus dedicated charging stations, commercial building public charging stations, airport charging stations, etc. in Hangzhou and Huzhou.
Since August, electric vehicle owners in both regions have consumed nearly 8 million kilowatt hours of green electricity, with an average electricity consumption of about 40 kilowatt hours per user.
