A three-phase dry-type isolation transformer refers to a transformer with electrical isolation between the input winding and the output winding. The dry-type isolation transformer is used to avoid accidental contact with live objects at the same time. The isolation of the transformer is to isolate the currents of the primary and secondary winding coils. In the early days, it was used in the power industry by European countries as a control power source for general circuits, safety lighting, and indicator lights in the electronics industry, industrial and mining enterprises, machine tools, and mechanical equipment. A transformer with high insulation strength between the primary and secondary windings to isolate different potentials and suppress common mode interference. The transformation ratio of dry-type isolation transformers is usually 1:1. Dry type isolation transformers belong to safe power sources and are generally used for machine maintenance and upkeep, providing protection, lightning protection, and filtering functions.

Three phase dry-type transformer, three-phase refers to the equipment used for boosting or reducing voltage in three-phase power systems. Dry type is a classification based on cooling methods. Transformers can be divided into dry-type and oil immersed type according to cooling methods. The former is air convection natural cooling or fan cooling, while the latter is oil immersion cooling. Different cooling methods have different application fields and scopes.

Three phase dry-type transformers are mainly used as small capacity transformers for applications such as local lighting, electronic circuits of equipment, precision machine tools, experimental devices, electronic computers, and electricity for high-rise buildings. They can be used as AC stabilized power supplies on industrial production lines, and low-voltage distribution for special purposes often fluctuates greatly, making them practical. The function of dry-type isolation transformer:

1. Anti interference effect: For example, a dry-type isolation transformer with Y/△ wiring can prevent the transmission of some harmonics;

2. Impedance transformation function: increases system impedance, making it easier for protective devices to cooperate;

3. The function of stabilizing system voltage: such as reducing the impact on system voltage when starting large load equipment;

4. The function of preventing system grounding: When single-phase grounding occurs on the load side of the dry-type isolation transformer, it will not cause single-phase grounding of the entire system (above the dry-type isolation transformer);

5. Reduce short-circuit current: When a short-circuit accident occurs on the load side, limit the short-circuit current of the system;

Daily maintenance

1. In order to protect the insulation performance of the high-voltage generator and the insulating oil installed in the machine head, the observation window should not be opened at will and the fixing screws around should not be loosened to prevent the oil from absorbing moisture or dust and reducing the insulation performance.

2. Check whether the lighting, heat dissipation and dust removal equipment around the transformer are intact, and wipe the dust on the transformer body and porcelain bottle with a clean cloth.

3. Check the load switch on the high-voltage side of the transformer to ensure flexible operation, good contact, and lubrication of the transmission part.

4. Pull open the high-voltage grounding knife, check that the grounding is in the disconnected position, close the high-voltage load switch, let the transformer run for trial operation, and remove the high-voltage side identification plate. Note that when disconnecting or closing the high-voltage load switch of the transformer, there must be more than two people on site.

5. When it is necessary to replace new oil, the local power department should be assisted to check the performance of the new oil, requiring its insulation strength to be no less than 25,000 volts/2.5 mm; and the insulation strength of the oil in the combination head should be above 30,000 volts/2.5 mm.

6. Use a 2500V megohmmeter to measure the insulation resistance of the transformer high and low voltage coils (to the ground and between phases) to confirm that it meets the requirements (at room temperature of 30°C, the high voltage side of a 10KV transformer is greater than 20MΩ, and the low voltage side is greater than 13MΩ. Before the test, the grounding wire should be connected, and after the measurement, the discharge should be performed.

7. The high voltage generator or combined machine head must have a good grounding wire. The ohmmeter should be used frequently to measure whether the casing, console casing, and external grounding wire are conductive, and the grounding bolt should be tightened.
